This line of the Brunning family can be traced back to a marriage between William and Rachel Ingate in October 1700 in Sotterley, Suffolk.   (see family tree page)

Family sons left Suffolk to go to Australia and America in the mid 1800's; however, the Suffolk connections were broken early in the 1900's when the remaining family moved to the Liverpool area.

Two of the descendants moved to Wales (Cardiff and Newtown) in mid-century.  Eventually, one of the Newtonian sons (me) went off to be a policeman in Newmarket, Suffolk in 1962.  Having married the Welsh 'girl next door' and whisked her off to Suffolk, another generation was started in Newmarket in 1968 and that family with their next generation now lives in Cambridgeshire.
